Soundbreaker is an ambitious mixture of a portrait and a music film – it follows Kimmo Pohjonen’s mad journeys into the worlds of music and everyday life. Kimmo Pohjonen is known as the reformer of accordion who is not afraid to have adventures with pop, rock, classical music, avant-garde, improvisation, dance and theatre. He has worked with artists such as Ismo Alanko, Kronos Quartet and Trey Gunn from King Crimson. The album Earth Machine Music, in which Pohjonen recorded different sounds of the farm and machines, is an example of the variety of his work.
Soundbreaker dives into Pohjonen’s persona and art through in-depth interviews, and the unbelievably beautiful film contains plenty of his unique music.
Soundbreaker premiers in the Finnish cinemas in the spring 2013.
