Stacy Peralta: Dogtown and Z-Boys (USA, 2001)Distributed by Cinema Mondo Stacy Peralta's documentary paints a picture of the revolution of skateboarding in the USA in the 1970s. The surfers of Santa Monica and Venice Beach created an entirely new skateboarding style in the drained swimming pools of California. This style, dubbed Dogtown, became the cornerstone of all that is skateboarding today. Music has always been an intimate part of skateboarding scene, and more than fifty artists have contributed to the soundtrack of this film. |
