Keskiyön kuumat huulet (dir. Tomi Riionheimo)
Tomi Riionheimo Retrospective (Finland, 2006)
Production: Indie Films Oy
60 min - Beta. Finnish.
Tomi Riionheimo, a film maker and animation artist from Joensuu, does not leave the audience cold with his works. His delicious short films, animated tales of the two naughty young roosters Rieku and Raiku and music videos directed for such bands as Eläkeläiset and Tehosekoitin belong to the all-time favourites of many, and Tomi's original use of imagery is instantly recognisable for both film enthusiasts and the wider public. Only very few artists possess a similar ability to combine exuberant humour with the tragic moments of everyday life in a way that cannot fail to bring home the artist's warm understanding of the multifaceted humanity even to the most cynical of viewers.
Rokumentti is bursting with pride to present a retrospective on Tomi Riionheimo's art. Please make sure that you reserve your ticket to the screenings well in advance, as it may be a bit crowded in the auditorium.
