Fire Burn Babylon is a film about three Rastafarians, Lyndon, I-Shaka and Elroy, who had to leave their Caribbean island home after a volcanic eruption. They moved to London, straight into the heart of Babylon. The Jamaican sun and the traditional Rastafarianism changed into East End nightclubs, rude boy attitude and hustling. How can Rastafarians maintain their faith in the middle of the materialistic world? How to start a family with non-Rastafarian wives? Will they catch their break in the music industry before being run down by the law for their petty thieveries?

Fire Burn Babylon answers questions about cultural clashes, an issue topical in Finland as well. Besides Lyndon, I-Shaka and Elroy, the director Sarita Siegel interviews the women who love them and the Rasta elders who try to guide them through Babylon. It ain’t easy being a rastaman in the concrete jungle.

Fire Burn Babylon depicts a struggle between two worlds: Rastafarians against the western temptations.
