Sampo Väinölä, a Chief Executive officer of a large international group, has started to have second thoughts on the verge of the company’s world conquest. The company is about to bring a virtual mind control device to the market. A chain of events born in the cross-fire of pressure and possibilities allows Sampo to remember the powers of the past. He realizes he is a part of the ancient battle between Kalevala and the North. The truth about Sampo will be revealed today.
Jari Halonen is known as the fiery rebel in the Finnish film and theatre scene. He is not afraid to provoke or shake predominant ideas when he strives for art and truth. He already started a cultural war in the experimental performance of Jumalan teatteri (God’s Theatre) while he was still in theatre school. His film Aleksis Kiven elämä redefined the myths of being Finnish. Now Halonen is dealing with the most important story of Finland – the national epic Kalevala.
