Biophilia Live is a film about avant-garde artist Björk’s concert in London’s Alexandra Palace in 2013, celebrating her eighth album release. Because we are talking about Björk here, Biophilia is much more than just a regular concert, or a regular film.

In fact, Biophilia is Björk’s own multimedia project, where the studio album is just a part of the big picture. In addition to songs, Biophilia consists of mobile applications, musical instruments created solely for this project, websites, and workshops with scientists. Even Finland’s own professor Esko Valtaoja is involved.

The Biophilia tour reached 26 countries in three years. In the concert seen in the film Biophilia Live Björk and her band perform all the tracks of the album by utilizing a large selection of extraordinary instruments. A music in a league of its own, stunning visuals, and visionary direction together create a breathtaking combination that you have to experience on a silver screen. This artwork that has toured cinemas worldwide is now seen in Finland for the first time.
