Sweat, drugs, and desire
In 1950s Mexico City, William Lee drifts through a haze of loneliness and narcotics among fellow American exiles. His days blur in smoky bars until he meets Eugene Allerton, a young former soldier who awakens in him an obsession deeper than any high. The time for fleeting encounters is over; William wants someone to give his life meaning.
Directed by Luca Guadagnino (Call Me by Your Name, Bones and All), Queer transforms William S. Burroughs’ novella into a stunning exploration of addiction, obsession, and longing. With a hypnotic score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, and songs from Nirvana, Prince, and Sinéad O’Connor, this film demands to be experienced on the big screen.
