In a quiet mountain village in Bulgaria, time seems to stand still. The last inhabitants live side by side with their animals – yet here, the borders between reality, superstition, and the spirit world have faded. A cat is suspected of being a vampire, while a donkey is believed to be a son transformed by his mother’s spell. Each creature carries a secret humans try to decode.

Moving between documentary and folk horror, Silent Observers gazes at a vanishing way of life through the animals’ eyes – a gentle spell of light, sound, and folklore where the living and the mythical quietly intertwine.
