In candlelight concert, the Joensuu City Orchestra performs surrounded by the warm glow of hundreds of candles – this time taking the audience on a journey through The Nutcracker.

We are guided into the world of fairy tales by Samu Stenberg from the Joensuu City Theatre. Tchaikovsky’s beloved ballet The Nutcracker is a magical story of Christmas Eve wonders. When young Clara receives a wooden nutcracker as a gift, an enchanting adventure begins — toys come to life and lead her into a world of sweets and dreams.

The Nutcracker Suite is filled with unforgettable melodies such as Waltz of the Flowers, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, and Russian Dance, enchanting audiences for over a century.
