Noise and Resistance is a German documentary that follows people living inside the European DIY punk scene. The documentary takes you to visit squatters in Barcelona, antifascists in Moscow, activists in England, the occupants of the queer-park in Berlin and a girl punk band in Sweden. What they all have in common is the strong do-it-yourself attitude and a wish for a certain kind of autonomy from the surrounding society. You’ll get familiar with the political music movement that is based on the real European solidarity that has declared a war on capitalism and mainstream culture.
Still, Noise and Resistance doesn’t just whine about the evils of the world but rather offers a description about a group of people full of positivity, hope and uncompromising attitude and who have chosen a different lifestyle. The directors Julia Ostertag ja Francesca Araiza-Andrade have travelled through Europe and found numerous wonderful places and people to shoot. And let’s not forget the roaring punk rock and hardcore!
