Hendrix fans and studio buffs, this one’s for you!

Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision dives deep into Jimi Hendrix's ambitious vision, which transformed the ruins of a bankrupt nightclub into the first ever, artist owned commercial recording studio. More than just fulfilling Hendrix's vision, Electric Lady Studios became the creative home to artists such as Stevie Wonder, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, and Beyoncé and some of the most celebrated music of all time.

McDermott’s  documentary features exclusive interviews and stories about how Electric Lady Studios became a cultural and musical hub in the 1970s. McDermott sheds light on Hendrix's artistic ambitions and technical innovations, which extended beyond his own music to influence the entire soundscape of the era. One of the highlights is a footage of music engineer Eddie Kramer breaking down classic tracks such as "Freedom," "Angel," and "Dolly Dagger," offering a glimpse into the magic behind the music.

Documentary gives also insights from modern-day artists who have recorded at Electric Lady Shows, showing how Hendrix’s creation remains as relevant today as ever. McDermott skillfully captures both Hendrix’s creative spirit and the studio’s enduring impact on the music world.
