A film about nature and mythology
Tale of the Sleeping Giants takes the viewer through the wilderness areas of Lapland, all the way to the Arctic Ocean, where the fells descend into the lap of the sea. It is a mythical story that began billions of years ago, in an era when the first mountains of Planet Earth were born.
In this film, animals such as the Bear, the Ermine, the Willow Grouse and the Snowy Owl get a visible role. Other animals central to the story are the Wolverine, the Reindeer, the Humpback Whale, the Red Fox, the Great Grey Owl and the Eagle. It is a story about beliefs and tales related to each of those animals, but also a story about man's relation to Nature and animals.
