Play with the Devil - Becoming Zeal & Ardor is a documentary about the band and music, primitive confusion, success, business and humour that help you survive in a dark world. Swiss-American musician Manuel Gagneux rose from underground to big stages in no time. The bold mix of black metal with Negro spirituals, blues and gospel originated as a response to racist provocation on the internet. With his music on religion, segregation and appropriation, Gagneux questions and breaks taboos. But the fact that fans have begun to praise him as some kind of new leader frightens the introverted artist. Will he be able to live up to oversized expectations?
